stand up and be counted, 2019
acquired by the jewish museum london UK
Stand up and be Counted tells the story of the number of Jewish people expelled or had to flee from surrounding countries after the creation of Israel. You seldom hear of the Nakba (catastrophe) from this perspective.
In the years after Israel was created, Jewish communities in the Middle East and North Africa were increasingly persecuted, and were eventually forced out of their homelands. 850,000 became refugees. World Jewish Congress
Apart from our appreciation of the quality of your work, we like the use of traditional crafts for social engagement and we think that it is very relevant for British Jewish history. Moreover, the embroidery would complement a collection that encompasses many works of traditional textile craft. Kathrin Pieren, Collections Manager and Curator (Social and Military History)
